Twelve runners (and two dogs) attended the first run in Pontburn Woods
in the Derwent Valley, coming from as far as Wolsingham and North Tyneside.
The conditions were perfect, apart from the darkness! DFRs latest female
recruit was also there, none other than Pippa Whitehouse, an England
international orienteerer. The run was about 6.5 miles long and took
85 minutes. Some ran it in short bursts with frequent rests, with the
rest maintaining a steady pace all the way around.
The next run will be on Tuesday 27th October, 7pm, at Hedley Hall Woods near Stanley (more details will be sent out nearer the time).
