The last headtorch run of Winter 2009-10 was on Thursday 25th March
at Beamish, just before the the start of English Summer Time. Ten runners
came along; two from Elvet Striders, one from Borrowdale, one from Low Fell,
five from DFR and only one from NFR (me). We were also accompanied by five
dogs.
We had an excellent run around Ousbrough and Hellhole Woods, covering
six miles with some short steep climbs and descents, and some fast technical
sections with only a few slips and trips. Afterwards we went to The Stables
where we sampled a couple of beers that are brewed on site. Highly recommended.
Thanks to everyone who took part in the headtorch runs this year. Look out
for them starting again in October. We'll try to include a couple of Northumberland
routes too.
I will also be organising some training and social runs over the summer for
which I will distribute details shortly.
Many thanks
