Another great turnout with 30+ runners, mainly from DFR. People had travelled from far and wide for this run with runners from as far Ponteland, Prudhoe, Bowes and Darlington. They were not disappointed with a long climb to the top of Long Hill (512m) on Stanhope Common followed by a swift descent via Stanhope Dene. Deep heather, bog and even a dusting of snow were just some of the obstacles. After 8+ miles only two were brave enough to try the Bonny Moor Hen, where I can vouch for a great pint of Guinness. Next event in February will be a night orienteering exercise at Gibside or Rising Sun Park - look out for info nearer the time.
