The final head torch run of 2010-11 provided a fitting finale with 26 runners
and three dogs turning up on a pleasant but very windy night. Maybe the big
turnout was because we had a pub at the finish. However there were only two
NFR's - me and John Metson. Most were from DFR and there was a large number
from Blackhill Bounders. The run came in at exactly 7 miles with some pretty
rough terrain and short steep climbs. We made it to the trig point on Stoterley
hill just in time to see the sun finally set over Derwent Reservoir. Head
torches were required for some of those at the back of the pack and everyone
enjoyed the shelter of the Moor Cock Inn afterwards. It has been a good series
of runs and thank you to everyone who came along. Will.
