Phil James: "Some good results for various NFR Lammers last weekend - Paul Hainsworth and John Duff (a MM 1st timer?) finished in the top 20 of the A class [see John's report]. Jane and Lewis Grundy finished 12th in the elite class - good effort! I had a brief non participatory pang about 8:00pm on Saturday evening but the feeling of disquiet was carefully balanced with large amounts of Stella Artois with zero midges.
Popped over to Blaydon to watch the finish of the Blaydon race this evening and a generous smattering of NFR mostly batting for the other side vest wise but at least one in the Purple and Green. Nick Swinburn was 6th (I think) with a few hundred metres to go. Steph and Martin Scott (in that order) looked to be having a whale of a time and Phil Green was very cheery [no doubt a breeze after the Edinburgh Marathon - ed]. I'm fairly sure Terry Hart was in there somewhere as well. Many more I have missed no doubt.
Nearly made me want to run a road race, but the feeling soon passed"
Chris Little adds "... my first road race in ages, forgot just how bad they really are! Truly Horrible ...Give me midge infested, cold, rainy mountain marathons anyday by comparison. Back to the fells for me!"
