Again another splendid day in the Newlands Valley for the Waltz. 570 runners had entered and 79 juniors pre entered.
The route which was fairly dry throughout (by Allendale standards) and a warm spring sun helped pry the vests from our backs.

Running for the ladies were Karen Robertson and Jane Saul. The men were represented by Phil Sanderson, Peter Hayle, Scott Gibson, Jamie Wilkinson, Terry Hart, Jon Robinson and Trevor Wakenshaw (who I didn't see at the start). David Steel made a welcome return after a long layoff through injury. Paul Hainsworth was also running with son Chris (potentially another speedy member of the clan to join NFR).
NFR Juniors were represented by Jamie and Tom Green, David Steel's children ran also as Morpeth Harriers.

Phil Sanderson finished in 12th place overall in a quality field of runners, an excellent run indeed. Karen finished well up the field.
The winner was ex NFR old boy Morgan Donnelly, rumoured to have cycled from Dufton before the race as well!
