While on a climbing trip to the Peak District I decided to do the
Bradwell fell race. Most of the village turned out to watch and the
traffic was stopped on the long initial road section, a big occasion
for the village!
The start was FAST, and I knew not to try and keep
up and this paid off as I picked off a few places on the main ascent
up through the forest onto the top of the moors. A nice section of
grassy off-road running followed by a very long rocky track leading
down which was unpleasant on the feet. A better bit of rough descending
led back to the final run in along the track and a loop of the huge
playing field.
There was a really good atmosphere it was a lovely
evening. Worth doing if you are down that way.
