scramble for the Topping

I was beaten by a 13 year old at last night's Roseberry Topping race. Mind you, so was everyone else as diminutive youngster Jack Willis from Ampleforth School won the race outright, in a pretty fast 11m59s. I managed to take second place and the honour of being first to the summit. NFR was also represented by Joe Garbarino, fully sixty years older than the race winner. Joe was cheered on by his own fan club who were more interested in dragging him home for their 'sleepover at grandad's house'. Pippa Archer (DFR) won the women's race and was again agonisingly close to the course record.
