Warm sunshine made for tough running at Allendale today. The peat bogs between Hard Rigg and Killhope still had plenty of moisture in them from the winter snow, but the rest of the paths were bone dry in the unseasonally hot weather. The race was won by Andy Blackett (DFR) followed closely by Charlie McIntosh (Pudsey & Bramley). The minor placings changed significantly over the last few miles. New recruit Graham Walton came through strongly in 4th, followed by myself and Ben Rowley. There were circa 20 folks there from the club in a large field. Over the pie & peas in The Golden Lion afterwards, the general consensus was that a grand day had been had by all.
