26/04/11 Carlton Challenge - from Will Horsley / Dave Johnson

NFR continued their rich form in North Yorks at Tuesday night's Carlton Challenge with Will Horsley in 1st place and Charlie Stead in 3rd. Unfortunately a podium clean sweep was denied as Dave Johnson, despite all the pre-race hype, couldn't manage to squeeze himself into second place. Performance of the night? Well, there was a V50 in second place and a JM15 in 5th, so I suppose I would have to say young Cameron Taylor gets my vote. A big turn out (137) for the first race of Dave Parry's summer series. See Esk Valley Fell website for details of the other fixtures. Pics and results via same site in next few days.

and from Dave ...

My apologies to Will and NFR for not making 2nd place. No one had told me that I needed to be careful because the Esk Valley Club had vowed that, by hook or by crook, NFR would never again get a clean sweep of the leading places! By the time I'd managed to escape from their secret HQ under Roseberry Topping, it was just too late to make up the lost time!

Plus - Just an addendum for Will's report: Trevor Wakenshaw was also there.
