A record turnout of 66 runners for the Beacon Hill Race. Conditions underfoot were pretty wet after the recent downpours but thankfully the stone slabs and steps were dry. Local runner Nick Swinburn stormed home 8 mins clear of the field and set a course record for the revised route. 2nd to 6th places were closely fought with Joe Blackett just holding off Bruce Crombie for second and Dave Armstrong the first Vet 50 not far behind.
Karen Robertson again brought the ladies home followed by Claire Bagness, Sue Mitchell and Steph Scott who recently became the first NFR Lady Vet to complete the BGR.
As usual in this race there were several cuts and scrapes which were attended to by Simon, our local Paramedic.
